Cabinets day 2

In the above picture...beside the corner cabinet will be the stove an microwave, and where the ladder is blocking the fridge will go!

In between that set of cabinets will be our dishwasher.
Of course, this is the only reason some people love to come over to our house! I'm so glad I got BJ an xbox!!! It's nice having his friends over.

Merle put in about 14 hours working on our cabinets getting them level and looking nice!! We are blessed to have such nice friends come help us out!

Mom's New Year Resolution Tracker

This year mom made a new year resolution to come to my house more than she did last year...not a hard task to beat, I think she came over 4 times last year! Haha. She went to visit my sister who lives far away like 200 times....so this year she said she would do better. (I'm just teasing her, what I am best at!) Anyways, I am going to keep track of her visits! So far, she has made it over 2 times (3 according to her). January 13th and January 28th. Impressive twice in one month!! February 5th and February 15th! Way to go mom, 4 trips this year, averaging twice a month!

A 3rd trip in February! Impressive- on the 24th.

March, mom finally made a trip over to Tolar on the 13th! It was an exciting trip we went to Winstar with Eddie and her! BJ and I sure had fun!

Mom came over to hang out for a little bit today! Hard to believe that 24 years ago I was born! March 24th visit makes a second march visit!

Uh-oh! No trips in April!!!!

I had to cook in order to get Mom and Eddie to come over tonight! At least they came over! May 17, 2009.

June Mom and Eddie picked me up and dropped me off after a trip to OK! June 25th and 27th! Thanks for the ride!

July 15th- Mom was so sweet, she brought the stuff for dinner and even cooked it while Lorena and I took the boys swimming at my MIL's house. What a sweet mommy. Who can forget the entertainment of Jeremiah's 6 month pictures either....not me?! Mom you crack me up!

August 17th- Mom and Eddie came to get me for our vacation!!!!

God's perfect plan...

Okay, some people may think this is just luck, but I think it was God's perfect plan today...It all started with a phone call from mom asking if school was canceled today. I told her that the campus would open at noon and so I would have class this evening. She offered that she and Eddie could take me to school, they were concerned that the roads could get bad when it got cold in the evening. A while later she said that she went to work and the roads were dry and she thought I would be fine. At that time BJ called and asked if I could skip classes because he too was concerned that the roads were going to be bad. So, I called mom back and she said that they would take me (unfortunately the ads for her favorite places weren't good) and would come pick me up at 4:30. Well, I had spent the day cleaning house and for the first time was going to use the front door instead of the office door, and go check the mail. As soon as I got back to the door I realized, it was locked when I went out! It pretty much stays locked but you can turn it from the inside and it doesn't feel locked. I didn't have anything with me except my cell phone and a coat on!!! I called and luckily mom and Eddie were only a few minutes away. I waited outside for them to come to my rescue! We were going to try and get in, but I decided I would just see what we could scrounge together...I wound up with a mini notebook and a few pens. Not exactly prepared for grad school. It all turned out great, we don't take many notes and mom didn't try to give me poisoned crackers for a snack. haha Unfortunately they didn't get to come inside and see all the progress that had been made, until we returned. I am so blessed to have a caring and generous family! It is my opinion, God's perfect plan was that mom and Eddie were going to take me to class tonight, otherwise I would never have made it to school on time!!! Thank you so much for taking me.

Mini-Ice Storm in the Tolar Metropolitan

Ice

Last night it became pretty icy here, so of course our cabinets are delayed. That's okay, I wouldn't want someone to get hurt trying to bring them on this crazy icy road. They should be here tomorrow! What's one more day!? Just looking forward to tomorrow! Work is closed yet again, not that I work today, but I think we would have been slow anyway. The school campus opens at 12 today, which means that I will have classes this evening...as long as the roads are good enough for ME to drive in! I can't even begin to imagine the Weatherford circle icy, it's bad enough in the best weather conditions! It should be a good day!

Cabinets

As long at the weather does not delay them, the cabinets should be delivered tomorrow!!!! I am so excited, they are going to look sooo nice!

Finished painting

I hate that there is a mess in the pictures, but I guess part of that is because we are remodeling. Anyway, yesterday I finished painting.

Painting fun

After going back and forth I have finally decided I like it. After the initial, oh my goodness, I hate it what were we thinking! Once I got almost done, I decided it was going to look really nice!

BJ's favorite things!

I can frequently find BJ doing these 2 things!

Paint color

Well, here it is, the color of the kitchen will be.....I have the sweetest mother-in-law, I am so blessed to have a great second mom (who happens to live a block away and helps me out time after time)!! Anyway, I asked her to come to home depot with BJ and I she has such a great interior design talent and I knew she would be able to help us pick the perfect color. We took a mug (to color match, well coordinate) and a chip of paint from the living room. She held them both up and moved up and down the isle until we found the PERFECT color! I'm so glad she was able and willing to go with us! Thanks Christy and Jerry!!
