Why I'm not taking any phone calls from mom....

Well, today is April 1st, and my mom has a bad history of getting me on this "holiday". Therefore, I am left guarded with everything mom says on this day...wondering is it truth or is it a joke?! I do have some funny memories of some good times. I have to admit I was not laughing years ago when one of these particular pranks was pulled. I don't remember how old I was, probably in middle school or elementary when I came into the kitchen eating a poptart (my favorite) and I don't remember her exact words, but she said something like, "I can't believe you're eating those after the mouse was in that box." I think I spit it out and probably screamed in disgust my fright for little furry creatures or moths, or any bug of any sort just about made my heart stop when she said that!

Another of mom's favorite April Fool's jokes (this one was kind of a special treat, I didn't mind) is she would always pack our lunches for school and on April Fool's she would pack plastic "toy" food in my sister's and my lunch boxes and then bring us Subway after we had a chance to worry we wouldn't have lunch.

I have never really pulled any good ones...BJ and I did one together the first April Fool's we were married (it had been 4 months since we got married) and we called his gullible mom and told her that I was pregnant. I don't remember why at the time it would have been such an awful thing for me to have been pregnant besides the fact we were newly weds....I think something else was going on, but anyways, she was quite surprised and asked us all sorts of questions about it. She was really going, I think she even told Jerry and they were both on the phone talking to us. It was funny though when we said April Fool's.

I'm just kidding mom, I'll take your call...but beware if I don't believe you.

  1. I remind you spitting that poptart out all over! You were so disgusted! I think Lorena was so worried about her lunch that I felt bad for her!

Well, I am also on guard!
